TOTIUM Healthcare appoints new CEO ahead of Scale Up

Corporate healthcare provider TOTIUM has appointed a new CEO as founder and Executive Chair DR SIMONE SCOVELL shifts focus to expansion plans for the growing business.

Marieke Bruinstroop joined TOTIUM as a consultant nine months ago after holding Global Chief People officer roles at both Guzman y Gomez and GenesisCare and takes up the position of CEO this month.

Dr Scovell, a former Medical Director at Qantas and IBM said Bruinstroop’s people and culture credentials and background in health care made her the right choice for the role.

“This move is about putting the skills in place that we’ll need for TOTIUM’s next growth phase as we expand our corporate offering to the wider workforce and revolutionise healthcare,” Dr Scovell said.

“While there’s a huge technology aspect to TOTIUM the business is fundamentally about people, and it made sense to appoint a CEO who brings vast experience in both people management and healthcare along with an astute commercial mind to lead us through this expansion.”

“Marieke is innately driven and a complete ‘go getter’; as a team we can rocket TOTIUM forward.”

TOTIUM is currently undergoing a capital raise to expand its corporate offering which includes a concierge service of executive healthcare (‘The Exec Check’) and workplace health clinics offering GP services, vaccinations, health checks and workshops (‘The Onsite Clinic’).

Incoming CEO Marieke Bruinstroop said that the new leadership arrangement would allow her to focus on the day-to-day operations of the rising employee healthcare business and free Dr Scovell to explore new business opportunities and healthcare partnerships across the medical, government and corporate sectors.

“It takes a unique leader to hand over the CEO reins when all the hard work is just about to pay off.  Simone’s talent for and focus on innovation and growth through relationships is where she will continue to give the business what it needs to succeed, and I very much look forward to continuing to partner with Simone on this next stage of growth.” Ms Bruinstroop said.

“This business has limitless potential to create a healthier, happier and more productive working population which is exactly where my passions lie in both healthcare and for creating great environments in which employees can thrive.”

TOTIUM’s current client base includes BHP, Qantas, Serco and The Four Seasons with plans to roll out high quality preventive health care, which is affordable and accessible to the wider workforce across a range of corporations.
