Rodney Cocks
Rodney Cocks is an experienced ASX CEO and Director specialising in building healthcare and technology businesses, with expertise in M&A, capital raising, private equity and strategic management. His career spans the Australian Army, the United Nations, the British Government and global consulting, equipping him with strong executive leadership capability, analytical and financial acumen, P&L oversight and the ability to lead organisational change and manage complex stakeholder environments.
Most recently, Rodney co-founded and led Vitura Health Limited (ASX:VIT) as CEO for over six years. Under his leadership, Vitura became the largest and most successful listed medicinal cannabis company in Australia. He led the IPO and multiple strategic acquisitions, including Cannadoc, Cannabis Doctors Australia, CanView, Cortexa and Doctors on Demand. In his final full year as CEO, the group generated approximately $120m in revenue, distributed more than one million products annually to over 5,000 pharmacy partners, delivered more than 400,000 patient consults and paid two consecutive fully franked dividends totalling approximately $12m — an industry first.
Previously, Rodney founded NewSouthern Capital, a private equity firm delivering above-market returns through real estate and technology investments. He was a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Linfox, acquiring and developing major logistics and intermodal assets, and earlier worked as a consultant with Boston Consulting Group in Australia and Asia. At an industry level, he helped establish Medicinal Cannabis Australia and the Emerging Therapeutics Association of Australia to strengthen regulatory and stakeholder engagement.
Earlier in his career, Rodney served internationally with the United Nations and the British Government and as an Infantry Officer in the Australian Army, including service in East Timor and multiple conflict and post-conflict regions. He chairs the not-for-profit Global Voices and has taught at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business Strategic Management Program at Trinity College Oxford. Rodney holds degrees from the University of Melbourne, QUT, Wharton and Harvard, is a graduate of the AICD and the Royal Military College Duntroon, is an admitted lawyer in New South Wales, a former Harvard Fellow, 2005 Victorian Australian of the Year and recipient of the Conspicuous Service Medal.
