Be honest. Are you in better or worse health after the pandemic?

So, what does this mean for you?

Let’s face it, some of us developed some pretty unhealthy habits in lockdown, which may still be part of our lifestyle.

Maybe you’re among the 29% of parents whose alcohol consumption increased or the 35% of Australians who put on weight.

Perhaps you’re included in the 25% national reduction in physical activity levels during the pandemic, or among the one in three people whose mental health was negatively impacted.

And maybe, in addition to everything that life throws at us which can impact our health, you’re also among the 80% of Australians believed to have contracted COVID-19.

As the NHMRC notes, there’s emerging evidence that cardiovascular and other complications are more common in those who’ve had COVID-19.

And we still don’t know the prevalence of Long COVID and the extent to which it causes or exacerbates chronic disease.
